Multidisciplinary Artist
Jake Merin is a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist working across a variety of mediums and art
disciplines. His art practice includes visual arts, design media, photography, writing and music. He likes
expressing his creative ideas through different mediums and processes and explore all that fine arts has
to offer while developing deep knowledge and understanding through his skills in each discipline.

Much of his work explores new ways of making and understanding art. As an Artist, he constantly strives to
create conceptual artworks that captures and expresses his emotions. The finer points of creative expression
finds fulfilment in his ability to weld imagination with effective handling of his craft. Harmony and balance
evens out the process of creation which made his artworks speak some leaning melody of movements.

Jake's fluid yet forceful artworks extol the rhythmic quality of his music and the discipline of his design
and management skills. Viewing his works was like a walk through a passage, a magical journey of an
artist who never ceased to discover and rediscover life's simple pleasure.

VISUAL ARTS
His visual artworks ranges from drawings to mixed media paintings and installations and are presented and
shown through conceptualized art exhibitions. His exploration of makeshift tools and methods allowed his works
to prove deeply into wide variety of topics including the most central to our understanding. He held many solo shows
and exhibitions for the last several years featuring artworks with contemporary themes of infinity, reverie and
optimism. Interestingly most of these exhibitions has an original musical score to compliment the artworks.

DESIGN MEDIA
He has illustrated a wide variety of notable design works and illustrations to date. Creative concepts ranging
from logos, cover designs, commemorative stamps, product designs and web designing are among his favorites.
Fascinated with photography and computer design softwares, he utilized these as medium
s in creating his digital
works. For him design media is a limitless avenue of discovery, creativity and expression. He now manages

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
For many years, he served as Product Designer and Production Manager of PJM Trophy Centre, an
awards and recognition specialist based in Manila. His expertise in the art enables him to design and create
the company's most sought after products including trophies, plaques and other customized corporate items.
Designing, product development and management are just few of his many exceptional skills.

MUSIC
A band player for several years, he played with a local band during his younger days while writing songs as a
hobby. The publishing of his very first composition encouraged him to write mores songs and eventually became
a professional songwriter later on. Although he already refrain from writing songs professionally, He still
continues to compose songs not for other artist but for his art exhibitions. His compositions are
now part of his exhibitions as a musical score to compliment his artworks.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Community service is a vital part of his life and that's the reason why he joined Rotary International, whose stated
purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage
high ethical standards, and build goodwill and peace in the world. After only 2 years of membership, he was elected
president of the Rotary Club of San Pablo City South during it's centennial year in 2004-05. The club enjoyed a
great year during his term with worthy projects focusing on community, vocational and youth service.
