IN STUDIO
Much of Jake Merin's work explores new ways of making and understanding art. As an artist, he constantly strives to create conceptual artworks that capture and expresses his emotions. His style has always been unconventional. The desire to create more depth and meaning in his work drives him to search for a unique way to do his art. His experimental techniques have thought him how to produce and reproduce the patterns in every artwork and series he does.
For him, the texture is the most important element of his art thus engaging with tools often found in an industrial workshop than in a conventional art studio. Years of experimentation with tools to create unique patterns have led to the discovery of his signature 'textured lines'. These line patterns were initially shown through his 'Beyond the Lines' series. The success of the theme and the exhibition with the same title made him decide to continue with it and make it the focal part of his visual arts.

When creating conceptual art, the artist relies on his understanding of his own style, representation, and imagery. Concepts, beliefs, and visions are communicated through the art itself.
